UVA Tournament

This Friday, instead of our usual routine of practice, then TDAS, then movie night, the team piled into cars and set off for the home of our arch-nemesis; UVA. The car ride, at least in my group, was spent rocking out to a pump-up playlist and, of course, stopping for Chipotle.

The whole team, along with the CNU players kind enough to help us boost our numbers, stayed overnight in a hotel near campus. And let me tell you what; spending the night with a team of your best and craziest friends is quite the experience. If you ask nicely after joining the team, maybe you'll get to hear a few stories. But suffice it for now to say we practiced throwing/catching/tackling in the pool, shared some bonding experiences, and perhaps did not get as much sleep as would have been wise.

Unfortunately, not many of our players could come to the tourney, and of the ones who were able to attend, more of us were hurt than not. So our odds were not good. But one thing this team's got no matter what is heart. We play *hard*, and we never say die. Even when we're absolutely freezing to death. Or when several people are taking pain killers to stay on their feet. Or when I looked like a mummy because the sprained ankle I had when the tourney started turned into two sprained ankles, a sprained elbow, and full-body aching from a dirty body slam. You get the idea. It was brutal. But hey, that's Quidditch.
